How do I change or submit new tax information?
Effective November 20, 2008, the Publisher Sign-up form no longer requires clients to submit a VAT number, tax identification number (TIN) or tax classification during the initial sign-up process.
Publishers are also no longer required to submit completed tax forms by fax or mail.
The Account > Administrative Settings tab gives publisher SuperUsers the ability to submit and update the account’s tax certification information at any time. Any information submitted through one of the electronic tax forms is immediately available for review within the Tax Information area.
Tax ID Automation is a new way of gathering and storing our clients’ tax certification information. Using electronic forms, publishers are now able to submit their tax information online directly to Commission Junction from within the CJ Account Manager™.
Tax ID Automation provides a fast, convenient method of submitting or updating tax information to Commission Junction. Previously, publishers were required to print tax forms directly from the IRS website and fax or mail the completed form(s) to Commission Junction.
The tax forms offered electronically within the CJ Account Manager™ include the following.
- W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identification and Certification (for US persons)
- W-8BEN Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding (non-US persons)
- Certification Of No United States Activities (non-US persons)
Current clients who have submitted their tax information in the past are encouraged to update their tax information using one of the online tax forms, but they are not required to re-submit their information.
Current clients who have not provided Commission Junction with their tax information will receive an email instructing them to provide this information by completing the relevant form. These clients must complete one of the online tax forms to be eligible for payment.
New clients must complete one of the online tax forms to be eligible for payment.
